Branch Rickey was the general manager of the Brooklyn Dodgers during the Jackie Robinson era and a Methodist who believed it was wrong to exclude someone for the color of the skin God gave them. All he wanted was to win baseball games, and he didn't care what the players on his team looked like. He also believed that it was time to stop African-Americans from being excluded from baseball. Clyde Sukeforth was an MLB catcher, coach, scout, and manager who worked with Branch Rickey. He also liked Jackie Robinson. Branch Rickey started the trend of including blacks in baseball.
