Long-Term Change
The integration of the MLB was a very important event. As shown on the graph, the amount of black MLB players has majorly increased from 1946-1986. This is only part of the evidence that proves how much Jackie changed the MLB and more importantly, society. In 1945, there were only white players in the MLB but after Jackie joined, more and more black players began to do the same. Not only did he open the gates for black baseball players, but also for many other races. Now, there are over 18 different countries who have players in the MLB.
